Vox replacement handles for amplifiers and cabinets (gold or silver hardware)

from £20.00

Replacement Vox Handles with Chrome or Gold coloured loops

Manufactured by North Coast Music in the USA from the original Vox injection mold. Includes the exact style Thomas/Vox chrome or gold coloured steel handle loops. The loops are ‘new old stock’ parts from North and Hull Manufacturing, a company that went out of business in 2004.

Handles can be ordered with or without mounting hardware which can be either ‘standard’ or ‘T-nut’ mountings. Both types are M4 (metric 4mm) threads which are the ideal fit and provide excellent strength:

  • Standard hardware is closer to vintage specification. It consists of four 4mm screws, nuts and 9mm washers to match the handle colour. This is ideal where space inside the case is tight (it usually is for the side handles on an AC30, for example). The ends of the screws will protrude around 5-10mm into the case. This requires a hole around 4.2mm diameter.

  • T-nut hardware consists of four shorter 4mm screws and T-nuts (screw to match handle colour). The T-nut requires a wider hole (c. 5.2mm) diameter and is pushed into the hole from below. The screw does not then significantly protrude into the case which makes this mounting method ideal where you need to maximise clearance below the handle (for example in AC50 heads, where the clearance between modern power valves and the handle screws can be an issue).

The plastic part of the handle can also be ordered alone (without any loops or mounting hardware) in case your plastic handle is broken but the loops remain serviceable. In that case, you need to remove the loops from the amp and use firm pressure to push them into the new handle before reinstalling.

These handles were manufactured and were previously sold by North Coast Music. The Vintage Amporium purchased the remaining stock of North Coast Music following its closure in 2024 and is pleased to, once again, offer to supply these handles for restoration of Vox amplifiers and cabinets. Mounting hardware is sourced by Vintage Amporium.
