Type A (small) white ‘tadpole’ grill piping for Vox and other amps and cabinets
White Grill Piping for British-built Vox amps (JMI era to modern)
White moulded vinyl grill piping with a staple flange. This piping staples to the perimeter edge of the removable baffles of JMI, VSL, Dallas, Rose Morris and Korg era Vox amps. This is not suitable for Thomas Vox (USA-built) amps.
This is type A piping (see images) which is an almost perfect match for the piping used by JMI’s suppliers (such as Gla Rev) in the 1960s onwards. It is slightly off-white in colour, the bead is hollow (like the original) and it is optimally flexible. Very similar piping was also used by many UK amp and speaker cab manufacturers.
The round portion of the piping is about 4.5mm (3/16") in diameter, the staple flange (excluding the bead) is about 8mm (5/16") long.
We also stock a similar but larger sized piping which is an excellent match to that used by Marshall on e.g. 1960 4×12 cabs - see the separate listing for ‘type B’ piping.
All piping sold by the yard (c. 92cm). You should measure carefully before ordering as this is cut from a continuous roll upon order and is not eligible for return, exchange or refund. Please refrain from ordering unless you are certain about your purchase of this item.
For guidance only (it is your responsibility to measure how much you need):
2 Yards is enough to complete most of the JMI head cabinets (AC30 supertwin, AC50, AC100 etc.)
3 Yards is enough to complete most AC10, AC15 and AC30 1x12 and 2x12 cabs and similarly sized speaker cabs.
4 yards is enough to complete an AC30x 2x15 cab or a ‘big box’ AC50 cab and enough for the largest Vox speaker enclosures, including the AC-100, UL7120 and UL760.
