Fender Pro Reverb 1976

£750.00
Sold Out

This is a near-immaculate Pro Reverb from 1976 that came to us in totally original condition, right down to the original Fender valves, speakers, footswitch and factory-fitted removable castors.

These are seriously underrated amps: this is one of the last of the valve-rectified, hand-wired 40w versions of the Pro that traces its lineage back to the pre-CBS Black Panel era and it was made before Fender went to the UL 70w version. Bell-like Fender tones drip from the original Oxford speakers, and it has the bonus of a great sounding reverb and tremolo. On top of that, this one has an excellent master volume that allows you to play at bedroom levels but then is easily loud enough to perform good sized venues at the twist of a knob.

When we acquired this amp it was working, but the tubes were ‘red plating’ and the 50-year old filter caps clearly needed replacing to get this amp playable and safe. It’s now repaired and serviced, including re-bias of the tubes which are now nicely balanced (45ma for 80% if you’re interested …) and it is still sporting those original Fender valves, all of which have been tested and found to be in excellent condition.

It’s hard to go wrong with this one - basically, it’s a minty hand-wired silverface Fender for the price of a tired reissue. It could make a fantastic studio or gigging amp which you can also practice on. It offers classic Fender tones and takes pedals brilliantly. It would also be a great platform to undertake some subtle mods and enhancements (effects loop anyone?) so by all means get in touch to discuss if you thinking that way and I can cost it up. As it stands, this is just a lovely sounding classic Fender time traveller.

Awaiting tech report and PAT test.
