Authentic vintage vibes for modern musicians

The Amporium’s mission is to restore and offer vintage guitar amplifiers for guitar players to use and enjoy. Stop back regularly as we’re continually adding new amps, guitars and parts.

As well as restored and serviced amplifiers, you will also find a unique range of parts to help you service and restore your own equipment. These are mostly (but not exclusively) for Vox amps and many are not available elsewhere.

We also sell a few hard-to-find used speakers and parts and some carefully selected guitars from time to time.

Whether you’re a guitar owner who dreams of pairing classic amps with your vintage guitars, a gigging musician seeking a classic backline or working in the studio, owning a vintage amp can be an investment that lasts you a lifetime.

Featured amp: 1963 JMI Vox AC15 ‘thin edge’ single speaker

One of the best sounding JMI designs: a very hard-to-find ‘thin edge’ Vox AC15 from 1963 in superb functional and cosmetic condition

Carefully restored in the original Fawn rexine covering, this example is largely original and sounds glorious on both the EF86 or Vib/Trem channels.

With rich and bell-like cleans that break up beautifully when cranked (or pushed with a booster), this would make an excellent gigging amp if you find an AC30 a bit too big and heavy but would equally grace any home or recording studio.

The vast majority of this amp - including the re-covered case, power and output transformers and the Alnico blue speaker - are original. The pre-amp, power and bias supplies have just been overhauled with new filter caps, cathode and grid resistors (all NOS) and the case expensively and beautifully restored.
